

Tom is Co-owner and Commercial Lines Accounts Manager with ABC Insurance. Tom started with ABC in 1982 and received his CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) designation in 1989. Tom has been very active in the insurance industry representing The Insurance Brokers Association of Nova Scotia as a board member, is a strong supporter of minor sports, and board member of many local charities.

Carmen is Co-owner and Commercial Lines Account Manager with ABC Insurance. Carmen Brown joined the firm of Anderson Brown Company in May 1982 as a personal lines producer. He started his CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) training in 1986 receiving his CAIB designation in 1989. Being a strong supporter of the Independent Brokerage System, Carmen joined the Insurance Brokers Association Board as a Director in 1986. He moved through the board to position of Chairman in 1994 as well as a Director on the Board of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada at the same time. His past time pursuits include playing golf, hockey, water skiing, and spending time with his family.

Carmen Kerr has been with ABC Insurance since January 1999. Carmen has been in the insurance industry since 1995 and is currently the Personal Lines Office Manager. Carmen graduated from St. Mary’s University in 1994 with her Bachelor Of Commerce majoring in management and human resources. Carmen is now working towards her CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) designation. Carmen is married with a young daughter and is an active volunteer in the community. Carmen is also a member of the Young Brokers Network. In her spare time Carmen plays ladies softball in Cole Harbour. She finds the industry ever changing and looks forward to the challenges of fitting the customer’s needs.

Brian joined ABC Insurance in January 2004 as a Personal Lines Account Manager for home & auto. Prior to joining ABC Insurance, Brian worked in the retail industry for Zellers Canada. Brian is currently working towards his CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) designation.

Karen joined ABC Insurance in April 2002 as Personal and Commercial Lines Account Manager During Karen’s more than 20 years in the insurance industry she has previously worked for Zurich insurance as an underwriter. Karen is WETT certified and is a basic woodstove inspector; Karen is currently working towards her CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) designation.

Joanne joined ABC Insurance in April 2004 as a Personal Lines Account Manager. Joanne has over 25 years experience in the insurance industry on both the West and East coasts of Canada working for such companies as ING Insurance, Aviva Insurance, Aon Reed Stenhouse, Johnson & Higgans Ltd and most recently, Keyes Insurance. Joanne holds her general & life licenses and is more then happy to assist in find the right product for your insurance needs.

Matt joined ABC Insurance in April 2008 as a Personal and Commercial Lines Account Manager. He has worked in the insurance industry since 2003 and is in the process of obtaining his CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) designation. On a personal note, his interests include hockey, golf, and mixed martial arts. He also enjoys spending time with his daughter.

Roslyn joined ABC Insurance in April 2008 as a Personal Lines Account Manager and recently took on the roll of Technical Operations Manager. Roslyn has been in the insurance industry since 2001 working from both the company and brokerage perspective, she has achieved her CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) and CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) designations. Originally from Manitoba, Roslyn enjoys the great outdoors that the East Coast has to offer.

Mark joined ABC Insurance in December 2009 as a Customer Service Representative. He has recently graduated from Saint Mary’s University with his Bachelor of Commerce degree, and is in the process of obtaining his CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) designation. On a personal note, his interests include playing and coaching Hockey and Lacrosse, as well as Golf, and spending time with his family.

Philip joined ABC Insurance in January 2011 as a Personal and Commercial Lines Account Manager. He has worked in the insurance industry since 2000 and is in the process of obtaining his CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) designation. On a personal note Philip enjoys spending time with his family and is heavily involved in the game of soccer.

Raielle joined ABC Insurance in April 2011 as a Personal Lines Account Manager and has been in the insurance industry since 2009. Prior to being in the industry she graduated with a BA in Community Studies and Human Services. Raielle currently holds her general insurance license and is working towards obtaining her CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) designation. ON a personal note, she loves to spend time outdoors with her family and friends.

Paul became affiliated with ABC Insurance in 1994 as the Insurance and Investment Advisor, dealing with Life Insurance, Retirement Portfolios, Employee Benefits. Paul operates as an independent advisor/broker. Paul has worked in the Insurance and Financial Services industry since 1992 and is the Managing Partner of his own firm, Granville Group Financial Consultants. His ability to deal with numerous insurance and financial institutions has allowed him to provide our clients with innovative solutions and quality financial products. Paul deals with individuals, business owners and professionals and his specialties include Investment Planning, Business Succession, Tax and Estate Planning.

Angela joined ABC Insurance in June 2001 in the role of Accounts Administrator. Prior to working for ABC Insurance, Angela worked for MacPhee Pontiac Buick G.M.C in an administrative position. Angela is responsible for daily updates to client files ensuring they are kept in proper order.

Joanne Thompson joined ABC Insurance in July 2007 as a Receptionist. Prior to starting her position with ABC Insurance, Joanne worked as a receptionist for Trader Corporation. Joanne holds a diploma in Computer Support Technology from CompuCollege and a diploma in accounting from NSCC.

Nicole joined ABC Insurance in 2007 as a Marketing Consultant. Nicole graduated from Saint Mary’s University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Human Resource. Prior to working for ABC Insurance, she has held various positions in the sales and marketing field. Nicole manages a wide range of projects including marketing communications, media purchases and promotional development. Nicole lives in Dartmouth with her husband and young daughter.

After a 17 year career with a major bank, Connie joined ABC Insurance in 1998 in the roll of Accounting Manager. Connie enjoys skating, golf, and family time. Connie has been a head skating coach for over 20 years.
